The questions every Direct Care owner asks

Is my fee too low for my market? Am I spending too much on staff? How full should my panel be by year three? When can I pay myself more? Most practices have had little reliable data to compare against. Industry surveys are built for insurance-based practices, and the Direct Care numbers that get passed around are usually one practice's story.

This is a real dataset, built from practices like yours and organized so you can find your peer group fast.

How it works

  1. Answer the survey

About 8 minutes. Your 2025 numbers plus a few 2026 totals. Have your P&L handy or give quick estimates. Every money question is optional.

  2. We run the numbers

Results are grouped by practice type and size. Any group with fewer than 5 practices is left out, so no one can be picked out.

  3. You get the report

Everyone who answers gets the full report by email before it's released anywhere else, plus a private comparison if you ask for one.

Your answers stay private

The report shows group results only and never names a practice. Your answers are stored by Goodman CPA and aren't shared or sold. We may reach out to walk you through your results.

Questions

Which numbers will I need?

Your 2025 revenue, main expenses and what you paid yourself, plus 2026 totals so far. A profit and loss statement from QuickBooks or your 2025 business tax return covers almost everything. Each question tells you where to find the number.

What if I don't know a number?

Skip it, or choose the quick version and give round totals. Partial answers still count.

We opened recently, or haven't opened yet. Can we still take it?

Yes. Practices that opened in 2025 or 2026 answer for 2026 so far or their latest month, and pre-launch practices answer a short planning section. Both get their own groups in the report.

We have several physicians or locations.

Answer once for the whole practice. The survey asks how many clinicians and locations you have so you're compared with practices your size.

When will the report be ready?

As soon as enough practices respond. Everyone who answers gets it first, by email.
